This article focuses on studying the history of the arrival and development of Islam in the Malay region and its impact on people's lives. This research applies a qualitative descriptive approach as well as a literature study method. Data was collected by reviewing scientific journal articles and historical literature that explain the process of Islam entering the region, trade networks, the role of scholars, Malay kingdoms, and socio-cultural changes. The data obtained were analyzed through source selection, theme grouping, information comparison, and drawing conclusions. Initial research shows that the process of Islamization in the Malay region is a historical process that occurred gradually through trade interactions, social relationships, religious activities, and support from rulers. The growth of Islam also impacted the government system, education, language, literature, law, and societal traditions. This process doesn't happen uniformly across all regions because it's influenced by local conditions and interactions between areas. This article highlights the importance of understanding Islamization as a process of interaction between Islamic teachings and the surrounding communities.
